Ahhh... my fingers are bruised!

Long day, winter-proofed my 100-year old windows.. watched one episode of Law and Order... studied, studied, studied.. just got back from campus and I sat in a small room writing with about a 30-sec neck roll of a break in between 2 1/2 hours of essay questions... ya gotta love grad school!!

Point being - I have a tiny bit of a headache from all of the higher-functioning thought that spilled out of my pen onto paper. I'm alive, I'll be fine in the morning.

Talking about mornings... haven't they just been brilliant lately, brisk and refreshing... a bit of the old New England autumn. Love it, couldn't live without it... enjoy the rides during sunset to class, I play my music really loud and sing things like... "shine".

Where to next, ah, perfect... I quick and witty like that: Self-Ideal. So here's Psychology 102 for those that want to get to know themselves better... Rogerians or humanisitic psychologist (of which I hope to be one day) often refer to current self-image and a separate self-ideal. Most could give you a lay person's definition of self-image, you know, the way you see yourself, how you think others see you.. but what about self-ideal?

Self-ideal is defined losely as an image of yourself the way you wish you were.. meaning all of those little odds and ends that aren't polished in your personality, temperment, physique, passion, etc. The problem usually lies in the fact that self-idealistic thoughts are often unrealistic. The discrepency between your real self and that unrealistic ideal ways heavy on many people.
So knowing that... if you feel like who you want to be or ought to be is too far away from what you are now... think about how realistic your aspirations are?

Be well... be happy... stay safe!

Peace.
