Hands
Nothing is free in this life. Or is it?
I have experienced something today that boggled my mind. After skiing all weekend, my body was aching for a massage. I called up “Ocean Massage” in downtown
After a long, peaceful and soothing massage I slowly got up and made my way to the door. On my way out, I extended my hand with money in it, expecting to pay $60.00 for the massage. I was told, “I can’t take your money.”
Why did I deserve this? “You gave four years; I can give you one year”. And she has given me much more than healing and recuperative massages, but insight into the beauty and goodness present in the world.
Leaving the massage studio today, walking to my car, I had an unrelenting urge to do something for someone; I wanted so badly to share that goodness that I had received with someone else. I almost felt unworthy of such selflessness, but it’s a great incentive to do good, to be selfless in my own way.
When’s the last time you did something for nothing? Altruism is in demand.

To be honest... 2 weeks ago when I cleaned my Grandmothers Apt. She lives in a Disabled/Ederly community. As I left the man that lives downstairs from her came out of his apartment [as expected] to say hello ask how I was. As he was standing there I saw a massive amount of dishes in his sink so I asked if he needed help. He refused of course. However in the end I convinced him to let me do his dishes.
I am going back next Monday to clean his apartment.
What he doesnt know is that I wont take his money. :]
Alicia- it was a rhetorical question, haha, but thanks for sharing. If he can't keep his apartment up, he might need more help... keep an eye out, huh? :)
how nice..those kinda things make your day a little brighter..
