Its the little things..

Cliché.. maybe just a little, but the fact of the matter is that life is made up of big and small decisions. On a day-to-day basis, we make 100 small decisions, we negotiate with the people around us, we either win or lose... but in the end, it is our own life and no one can claim it but ourselves.

On the small scale, yes.. I can think simple! Today a few little things that most would do because of second-nature, I..... overlooked. Why? Am I unintelligent, am I without common sense? None of these things.. but they are concepts I have to re-learn:

1. I went to the supermarket to buy my weekly groceries and was very good about prices! I spent about 30 minutes searching for sales in the paper and gathering my 1 coupon. When I got to the store.. I couldn't find the potatoes that were on sale.. nor the ground beef.. and suddenly I realized... the sale week started tomorrow!!! Did I return home.. not a chance.. I did my shopping. Note to self: Check the dates on the sale!

2. I needed to do three errands today: pay my cable/internet bill, donate some shoes to the Church and print something out at Mom's. I ended up driving west, then east, then west again.. bottom line.. I ended up passing my house before I was ready to come home.. Note to self: Plan my errands so I put the least mileage on my car!

So there it is.. transitioning to a totally independent lifestyle takes some time... but I'm getting there :)

Christina - Its funny that you say, "I know what I need... so I buy it". I heard the same thing from my sisters and Mom.. but, then again.. they are at a point in their life that they can spend extra buck or two.. I don't. When I'm there, it will be a nice experience.. but this one if fitting me for right now ;)

X- I know where you're coming from, because.. well.. same things happened to me. Minus getting called into the office for disrespect.. never did that. Its hard to live a lie.. no matter how big or small, but when your job depends on it.. and there's no way out of your job, working around it is the only avenue.

Its good to vent.. and you can do that with "the people that matter" :) Me! haha
