...and we'll being on page 1
In the awesome mood and undoubtedly positive confusion I find myself in today, I decided it's best to start off with fun things, like... VOLUNTEERING!!
Picture this.. me in 10th grade, sorta still clumsy and awkwardly realizing that somehow, my voice wouldn't switch pitch every 5-seconds!! Ha-ha Exaggerating just a bit, but hey.. those days I had just discovered that girls kinda dug me, shaving my face every day wasn't as fun as I thought it would be and I really didn't make enough money at CVS to pay for gas AND fly to remote areas of the world to replenish the Portuguese Empire! :)
It was at this time that I was asked to take part in the Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Seminar, a weekend retreat where youth leaders got huge EGO strokes and then were sent back to do good things in their schools and communites. I also uncovered the great importance there was in volunteering.
On my way home soon.. I look for a job helping people (for free). The first, an organization that strives to improve the publics receptivity to homosexuals and the concept of homosexuality, included in that is spending time with youth who are dealing with sexual identity issues and the like. That would prepare me well, but what else could I do? VA Medical Center.. yes, I could visit and talk with former military people and bring some compassion and vitality into their lives (for those who had lost theirs). Now I wait to hear from both organizations, we'll see which accepts my invitation...
(9:30 PM) Three explosions rock New Delhi.. terrorists have attacked very close to the job site, we're all on high alert.. curb the happiness and get ready for some action the last few days I'm here on the front.. as they say.
